Coffee Machines

Coffee machines are an innovative way to produce a great tasting cup of coffee. With so much choice in the shops it can often be difficult and confusing to pick out the best coffee maker for you. The 2 main varieties are pod coffee makers and bean to cup coffee machines. These differ in the ingredients they use but work in a very similar way. Bean to cup machines use raw ground coffee beans and filter water through them. Pod coffee makers use little pod’s of coffee that you can buy from supermarkets in a wide range of flavours.

Some purists say that bean to cup machines are the best tasting but recently pod coffee makers have adapted and now boast impressive specifications and brew cups of coffee fast, efficiently and most importantly, that taste great.

If you buy a pod machine over a bean to cup coffee maker then you actually get much more choice when it comes to flavour. All your favourites plus many more such as lattes, mocha’s even hot chocolate and tea! That gives you exceptional bang for your buck when buying one over a bean to cup.

With pod machines instead of buying more coffee beans for the machine you buy pods which are available in every major supermarket these days and most stock a massive range of flavours. Make sure you compare the cost on each different manufacturers pod refills so you aren’t stuck with buying overpriced refills for your chosen coffee machine. Most brands do offer cheaper varieties and a range of more premium flavours.

A lot of the newer machines come with impressive features but these aren’t the same from machine to machine so be sure to read up on the specification of the one you’re looking to buy. Some of the notable features are the pressure, higher is better here so be sure to look out for around 8-15 bar. Britta Maxtra filtration, some come with a water purification built in and others claim to be energy efficient. Weigh up all the upsides and downsides of each one before settling on a coffee maker.
